June 1, 2023 – Intel Corporation today announced the appointment of Dermot Hargaden as vice president and general manager for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. In addition, Hargaden will be the global go-to-market leader for Intel’s automotive business and represent Europe region as its president. Hargaden has served as the interim regional leader for EMEA since Frans Scheper departed Intel earlier this year and will now take on the position permanently.

Hargaden, who previously served as a vice president in the Programmable Solutions Group (PSG), will oversee Intel’s overall commercial business in EMEA, including driving revenue growth, and strengthening Intel’s existing regional customer and partner relationships. He will also engage with the EMEA ecosystem, and steward Intel’s planned investment in Europe, which remains a critical region with ambitious semiconductor plans.

Since joining Intel in 2015 via the company’s acquisition of Altera, Hargaden has played a critical role as a member of the PSG leadership team. In his previous role, which spans field sales and business management, he has driven considerable growth at Intel and built an EMEA-wide network that will drive success in his new position.

Hargaden said: “I’m delighted to step into this role at such an exciting time for Intel’s growth in EMEA. We remain committed to our planned investments in Europe, and to contribute to the region’s resilience in semiconductor manufacturing and advance Europe’s digital future.”

Hargaden is based in Cork, Ireland.
