Each year Intel selects a signature charity for our employees to dedicate their combined efforts towards, providing volunteer time and funds raised through specially organised activities. For 2022 Global Action Plan was selected and employees have been taking part in numerous events during the year to date to raise funds and generate awareness in support of the charity.

In what has become a much-anticipated annual event, and one of the highlights of the fundraising calendar, the Intel charity cycle took place on Friday 9th September. For the first time since 2019, the cycle was back as an organised group event leaving from the Intel campus in Leixlip as employees headed off on either a 50km or 90km cycle. Each of the routes culminated at Summerhill Community Centre in Co. Meath, a venue which kindly opened its doors to welcome the Intel cyclists and crew.

The cyclists were kitted out in a green jersey that incorporated the Global Action Plan logo and colours. The jersey also included a special piece of text – Together Again – to mark the uniqueness of the 2022 event that brought employees together once again for the cycle.

This was the thirteenth year of the Intel charity cycle and employees once again demonstrated their commitment to our signature charity by coming out in great numbers to raise much needed funds.

Over €10,000 has been raised by the 120 people who took part this year. This will be combined with monies raised through other events with the total overall fundraising amount being revealed at the end of the year.

Global Action Plan will also benefit from Intel’s unique initiative, the Matching Grants Program, which motivates employees to engage in volunteerism by providing cash grants to the organisations where the employees volunteer their time.
