In Ireland there are hundreds of CS employees working at the Leixlip campus and recently they all took part in a Global CS Giveback Day. The Ireland CS Giveback Day took place on June 10th 2022 and saw employees pool their efforts into a number of different activities that all took place across Leixlip town.
Employees participating in the Giveback Day supported activities in conjunction with Leixlip Tidy Towns Association who had identified a number of different projects for the Intel team to complete.
These projects included painting all the bollards on the main street of Leixlip, painting fences, benches and plant boxes in the plaza and general clean ups around the Leixlip area. The Intel employees in their personalised green t-shirts split up into groups and headed to different parts of the town. Over the space of a few hours each of the projects was completed.
Leixlip Tidy Towns Association were delighted with the support provided by Intel employees and speaking on their behalf Pat O’Shea, Tidy Towns member said; “The village is looking lovely, and the work completed is very much appreciated. The work comes at a great time as the judging for the Tidy Towns competition for 2022 is coming up. Hopefully we can achieve the gold award again this year.”
Congratulating the CS group on this fantastic achievement Intel Ireland External Relations Manager Lisa Harlow said "Our employees are passionate about volunteering and it’s wonderful to see so many of them turning out to support our local town. This was one of our first opportunities for an in-person volunteer activity in quite some time and everyone was so excited to be out in the town, getting involved and getting their hands dirty! Congratulations and well done to each and every one of the employees who took part”.
In addition to all of the volunteer work completed on the streets of Leixlip, the Tidy Towns will benefit from the Intel Matching Grant Program whereby the Intel Foundation will match 1 hour of volunteering with a $10 donation. All the employees who took part in the event will see their time matched in aid of Leixlip Tidy Towns.
