On Thursday December 1st Intel’s Annual Senior Citizens Christmas Party took place, an evening where seniors from the local community and a team of Intel employees come together to celebrate the festive season. 2022 marked a special occasion as this was the return of the in-person party to the hotel after a 2 year break.

This was the 24th year of the senior citizens party which is a special evening both for local residents and for the Intel employees who attend. 200 guests were collected by bus from a number of different locations across Leixlip and brought to the Springfield Hotel to kick off the evening.

Volunteers welcomed the guests as they arrived and got comfortable in their seats. Before the meal was served, the General Manager of the Springfield Hotel, Ger Hannigan, brought everyone together for a short moments silence to say grace and shortly afterwards a traditional dinner of turkey and ham was served to guests. This was followed by a tasty Christmas pudding dessert, tea and coffee.

Once dinner had been wrapped up the band began to play, and everyone eagerly hit the dancefloor. Bobby Harpur and the rest of the band kept the crowd entertained for the night, playing all time classics such as ‘Sweet Caroline’ and ‘Ring of Fire’. Everyone was on their feet, and most guests remained on the dancefloor until the night came to a close in a traditional Christmas fashion with ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’.

As guests left the hotel, they were surprised with a Christmas box full of traditional favourites such as mince pies and Christmas cake.

Thank you to all those who attended the 2022 event and to the 25 Intel employees for their continued support.
