Mini Scientist

Mini Scientist Competition

Giving primary school students the opportunity to explore science through project based learning and exhibitions. The Intel Mini Scientist Exhibition is a program which allows Primary school students to develop science related projects which are then exhibited at fairs held within their own schools.

The Mini Scientist Competition 2016

The Mini Scientist Competition 2016 kicked off in October with over 6,000 students taking part from over 100 different schools across the country. We are happy to announce the overall winner of the competition as well as the runner up and special prize winners from the Grand Final of the competition which took place on February 3rd 2017 in the Helix, DCU. Winners of the Mini Scientist, Sean O’Brien, Marc O’Brien, Eoin Carey, Shane Leahy from St. Johns National School in Cratloe pictured at the Grand Final awards ceremony. The winning project, entitled “Badger, Victim or Villain” investigated the behaviour and habitat of the Irish Badger.

  • Traffic Lights – Belmayne Educate Together, Castleknock, Dublin 13

  • Best Communications award – Pollution Solution, St. Laurence’s NS, Sallins, Co. Kildare

  • Best Visual Display – The Secret Life of Crows, Bridgetown N.S, Co. Clare
