Primary School Programs
The Intel Mini Scientist program gives 8 - 12 year old students across Ireland the chance to participate in science exhibitions for which they develop visual displays and accompanying project books based on scientific areas aligned to the national primary science curriculum. 2012 was the biggest year yet for the competition with more than 4,500 students in 70 different schools taking part. This annual competition gives Primary schools across Ireland the chance to embrace the use of wireless technology by offering a prize of a set of 30 individual computing devices along with a dedicated teacher device and a portable charging trolley. The winning school for 2013 was St. Conaire’s, a primary school located in Shannon, Co. Clare. Click here to read more about the program and this year’s prize winners.
Intel Engineering Challenge
Each year Intel hosts Engineering Challenges for primary school children aged 8-10. Budding engineers are invited to complete enjoyable and informative challenges of designing and building a variety of items, such as rockets and bridges, from recycled materials.
