These engineering marvels are designed to deliver the best combination of performance, energy efficiency, integrated workload optimizations, and cost-effectiveness. Whether you are improving agility through virtualization, running cloud-based services, or running high-performance computing applications, such as design automation and real-time financial transactions, you’ll be delighted by better than ever performance and energy efficiency. New virtualizatyion and security features work together to deliver a more trusted compute environment. You will be able to harness big data and deliver new services with deeper insights, enabled by Intel® Integrated I/O, which helps you to eliminate data bottlenecks across the platform. The Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v2 product family—versatile processors at the heart of today’s data center.

Virtualized Server Consolidation Performance using VMmark* v2.5

VMmark* is a free tool that hardware vendors, virtualization software vendors, and other organizations use to measure the performance and scalability of applications running in virtualized environments. VMmark 2.x measures the performance of multi-host virtual environments and is designed as a tile-based benchmark consisting of a diverse set of workloads commonly found in the data center. The virtual machine configurations and the software stacks inside the virtual machines are fixed as part of the benchmark specification and is meant to be representative of a general-purpose virtualization environment. VMmark 2.5 adds increased parallelism, additional client support, support for vSphere* 5.1, support for short runs, and enhanced messaging.

VMmark enables users to:

  • Measure virtual data center performance accurately and reliably
  • View and compare the performance of different hardware and virtualization platforms

VMware VMmark* is a product of VMware, Inc.

Product and Performance Information

open

1. Software and workloads used in performance tests may have been optimized for performance only on Intel microprocessors. Performance tests, such as SYSmark and MobileMark, are measured using specific computer systems, components, software, operations, and functions. Any change to any of those factors may cause the results to vary. You should consult other information and performance tests to assist you in fully evaluating your contemplated purchases, including the performance of that product when combined with other products. For more information, go to www.intel.com/performance.

2. Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology: See the Processor Spec Finder at http://ark.intel.com or contact your Intel representative for more information.

3. Requires a system with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology capability. Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 is the next generation of Intel Turbo Boost Technology and is only available on select Intel® processors. Consult your PC manufacturer. Performance varies depending on hardware, software, and system configuration. For more information, visit www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/turbo-boost/turbo-boost-technology.html.

4. Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology (Intel® HT Technology) requires a computer system with a processor supporting Intel® HT Technology and an Intel® HT Technology-enabled chipset, BIOS, and operating system. Performance will vary depending on the specific hardware and software you use. For more information including details on which processors support Intel® HT Technology, see www.intel.com/products/ht/hyperthreading_more.htm.

5. Intel processor numbers are not a measure of performance. Processor numbers differentiate features within each processor family, not across different processor families. See www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/processor-numbers.html for details.

6. Results have been estimated based on internal Intel analysis and are provided for informational purposes only. Any difference in system hardware or software design or configuration may affect actual performance.
