Product and Performance Information

1. Requires a system with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology capability. Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 is the next generation of Intel Turbo Boost Technology and is only available on select Intel® processors. Consult your PC manufacturer. Performance varies depending on hardware, software, and system configuration. For more information, visit www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/turbo-boost/turbo-boost-technology.html.

2. Corel WinZip* software compresses and decompresses files. The workload decompresses an encrypted archive containing 200 photos, 125 of which are 10MP photos and 75 of which are 6MP photos. The photos are in JPEG* format. The total size of all the photos is about 830MB.

3. Painless multitasking test consists of two different applications. The ArcSoft MediaConverter* 7 input is a 1.7GB 15min 8 sec 1080i MPEG2* video clip (similar to that obtained by a DVR), and the output is a 480x320 MP4* suitable for Apple iPhone*. The Bibble* Lite workload is 200 8.2MP images in RAW format. The total size of all the photos is 2.53 GB. The photos are converted to JPEG format using default settings.

4. Advance photo editing with Adobe* Photoshop CS5. The workload applies filters to 5 RAW images ranging from 8MB to 11MB. The photos were taken with a 10 megapixel Nikon D80* and have a resolution of 3872x2592. Filters are applied to the picture and then undone except for one final filter applied to each of the images. A web photo gallery is created with the 5 pictures after edits have been completed.

5. Create HD Blu-ray* video with Adobe Premier Pro* CS5. The Workload contains a 2 minutes 35 seconds HDV 1080p25 footage. The input file size is 261 MB. The video stream is 1920x1080 (16:9), 29.970fpx, AVC(High@L4.0). The audio stream is constant 256Kbps, 48.0Khz, 16 bits, 2 channels, AC-3. The performance test measures the time to export the entire clip to H.264 Blu-ray* format using default settings. A sequence file that is stored for later use when assembling various clips to make a Blu-ray disc without the need to re-encode.

6. Create cool 3D images with Blender* 2.53 Beta. Blender is a free open source 2D and 3D content creation suite. It provides a broad spectrum of modeling, texturing, lighting, animation, and video post-processing functionality. The output of this workload creates a ~6.9 MB character model of a flying squirrel.

7. Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology (Intel® HT Technology) requires a computer system with a processor supporting Intel® HT Technology and an Intel® HT Technology-enabled chipset, BIOS, and operating system. Performance will vary depending on the specific hardware and software you use. For more information including details on which processors support Intel® HT Technology, see www.intel.com/products/ht/hyperthreading_more.htm.

8. Performance tests and ratings are measured using specific computer systems and/or components and reflect the approximate performance of Intel® products as measured by those tests. Any difference in system hardware or software design or configuration may affect actual performance. Buyers should consult other sources of information to evaluate the performance of systems or components they are considering purchasing. For more information on performance tests and on the performance of Intel products, visit www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/benchmarks/resources-benchmark-limitations.html.

9. Software and workloads used in performance tests may have been optimized for performance only on Intel® microprocessors. Performance tests, such as SYSmark* and MobileMark*, are measured using specific computer systems, components, software, operations, and functions. Any change to any of those factors may cause the results to vary. You should consult other information and performance tests to assist you in fully evaluating your contemplated purchases, including the performance of that product when combined with other products.

10. Relative performance for each benchmark is calculated by taking the actual benchmark result for the first platform tested and assigning it a value of 1.0 as a baseline. Relative performance for the remaining platforms tested was calculated by dividing the actual benchmark result for the baseline platform into each of the specific benchmark results of each of the other platforms and assigning them a relative performance number that correlates with the performance improvements reported.
